A Baroque and Neoclassical Zamoyski palace with preserved interiors, a landscape park and a striking gallery of Socialist Realist art. A longer trip from Warsaw into the Lublin region, worth the whole day.
Trip plan
Plan for the day
- 07:30 — leave Warsaw towards Lubartów via the S17 and national roads.
- 10:00 — arrive in Kozłówka, walk across the palace courtyard.
- 10:30 — tour the Zamoyski palace interiors.
- 12:30 — the Socialist Realist art gallery in the former outbuilding.
- 13:30 — lunch on site or in Lubartów.
- 14:30 — stroll the park, chapel and carriage house.
- 16:00 — a short trip to Lubartów, the square and a coffee.
- 16:45 — leave, back in Warsaw late in the evening.
What to see
- The Zamoyski palace — an 18th-century residence rebuilt around the turn of the 20th century, with its salons still furnished.
- The Socialist Realist Art Gallery — an original collection of propaganda paintings and sculpture from the communist era.
- The palace park — an English-style garden with avenues and walking paths.
- The palace chapel — neo-Gothic, nicely seen from the park.
- The carriage house — the former stables and a historic collection of vehicles.
Where to eat
In the area you will find Lublin-region cooking: pierogi, buckwheat with meat, soups and potato pancakes. Modest restaurants operate in Kozłówka itself, and Lubartów offers more choice. With your coffee, ask for home-baked cakes.
