One of the oldest towns in Masovia: a cathedral on Tumskie Hill, a high escarpment above the Vistula and a museum with an Art Nouveau collection. A calm day of history and long riverside walks.

- Tumskie Hill — the old centre of the town, with castle remains and a courtyard.
- The Vistula escarpment — some of the best viewpoints in Masovia.
- The Mazovian Museum — home to one of the largest Art Nouveau collections in Poland; check opening hours before you go.
- The Old Market Square and Tumska Street — calm streets lined with old townhouses.
Where to eat
In Płock you can try Masovian cooking: pierogi, soups, pork cutlets and Vistula fish. Small restaurants and cafés sit around the Old Market Square, and lighter places along the river offer views. In summer some tables go outside.
