  • 16:30 — Train home.

What to see

  • The Old Market Square with its Renaissance town hall and the famous goats.
  • The cathedral on Ostrów Tumski, among the oldest in Poland.
  • The Imperial Castle, built in the early twentieth century.
  • Lake Malta, a large artificial reservoir with walking and cycling paths.
  • Stary Browar, a former brewery turned art and shopping center.

Where to eat

Try traditional Greater Poland dishes: potatoes with gzik (a curd dip), czernina soup and the St. Martin's croissants. Around the Old Market there are plenty of restaurants and cafés, and more local places can be found in Jeżyce and Śródka.

Where to stay

The Old Town and the Old Market are the easiest for exploring on foot. The area around Freedom Square and the main station has good transport links, and the Lake Malta side is quieter.
